Book Description

Diseases associated with the respiratory system are one of the most common illnesses encounter in clinical practice. The following book is an attempt to highlights some of the important points for diagnosis and treatment of certain commonly encountered respiratory diseases. Care has been taken to incorporate the basic pathology of any disease and latest treatment modality of the disease.Chapter two to five deal with one of the most common disease present in our country i.e tuberculosis. Various aspects like etio-pathogenesis, clinical feature, and treatment have been briefly covered. Chapter five deal with TB/HIV and the current recommendation for co-treating both the conditions.Later on various other commonly encountered respiratory conditions have been dealt with. Sleep related disorders are on an rise and sleep medicine has emerged as a prominent entity and so disorders related to sleep have been dealt separately. Lastly, but not the least I would like to acknowledge all those who helped me in framing this out especially my mentor Prof(Dr) J.K.Mishra, HOD, Dept of TB and Respiratory Medicine, IMS, BHU for his constant guidance.
