Dr. Arun Kant Gautam is currently working as Assistant Professor, Head, Department
of Commerce, Ramabai Government Women Post Graduate College, Akbarpur,
Ambedkar Nagar, Uttar Pradesh, India. He has completed his Master of Commerce
from Faculty of Commerce, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, India and Doctor of
Philosophy from Department of Commerce, Udai Pratap Autonomous College,
Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, India affiliated to Veer Bahadur Singh Purvanchal
University, Jaunpur, Uttar Pradesh, India. The topic of his thesis was “Operations of
National Stock Exchange”. He has participated and papers presented in more than 40
national and international seminars/conferences. He has more than 15 research papers published in various national
and international Journals. He has teaching experience of more than 11 years. He has convener of two national
seminar sponsored by Indian Council of Social Science Research, Ministry of Human Resource Development, New
Delhi. He is life member of Indian Accounting Association and member of Editorial Board of the International
Journal “The Indian Journal of Research Anvikshiki” also. He is the Editor-in-Chief of the “Disaster Management in
India” and “Teaching, Learning and Evaluation in Higher Education”. |

Dr. Priyanka Sharma is currently working as an Assistant Professor of Management at
Institute of Advanced Management and Research, Duhai, Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh,
India. She is also working as a Resource Person of Securities and Exchange Board of
India for spreading financial education in various sectors of society. She has completed
his Master of Commerce and Doctor of Philosophy from Faculty of Commerce,
Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, India. The topic of her thesis was
“Securities and Exchange Board of India-An Evaluation of its Working”. She has
participated and presented papers in more than 30 national and international
seminars/conferences. She has more than two dozen of research papers published in various national and
international Journals. She has teaching experience of more than 8 years. |
Book Description
Finance is considered as the life blood of all economic activities and has become an integral part of modern business. The term capital market encompasses as all financial institutions, instruments and services which pertain long-term finance. Stock market embraces the system through which the public takes up long-term securities either directly or through intermediaries. The National Stock Exchange of India Limited (NSEIL) was incorporated in 1992 with an equity capital of Rs. 25 crores and was given recognition as a stock exchange under securities contracts (regulation) Act, 1956 in April, 1993. The exchange currently operates three market segments, namely Capital Market, Wholesale Debt Market Segment and Future & Options Segment. The whole book is divided into six chapters namely National Stock Exchange of India-An Overview, Equity and Equity Linked Products, Derivatives and Debt Segment, D, Listing of Securities, Domestic and International Investors and Corporate Governance. We are sure that this book will serve the purpose of students, research scholars, academicians and other persons who are interested in this subject.
