Yuri Latypov | Doctor Biological Sciences, Academic New-York Academy of Sciences and
Russian Ecological Academy are studying the fossil and modern corals. Yuri
Latypov first observed live corals in Australia bout 40 years ago and was struck by
the beautiful growth and diversity of these remarkable animals. Since then he has
had the opportunity to look and study at corals and coral reefs throughout the world
from Australia's Great Barrier Reef up to Seychelles and Mauritius. He is a laureate
of the National award for contributions to underwater exploration. He spent more
than 3,000 hours underwater. He has conducted fundamental and applied research
on coral in many places and has published the suits of these studies in different

Dr. Latypov gives especial attention to studying of corals and reefs Vietnam. Last year he investigated
opportunities of restoration of reef communities and carried out experiments on artificial cultivation and
rehabilitation corals on the Vietnamese reefs. As part of geological and marine expeditions, scientific delegations,

Book Description
Fisheries and aquaculture (plenty of fish, shrimp, lobster, clams, pearls and seaweed) are undergoing constant development. The population of the coastal waters of the Indo- Pacific Equatorial zone are linked to significant productivity as determined by the study of coral reefs ecosystems. Clear turquoise water ebbs and flows at the edge of a tropical shore. Beneath the water's surface exists a breathtaking underwater world? Home to a diversity of colorful exotic fish, corals, and countless other marine creatures - this is the coral reef. Oceans, seas and fresh water cover more than seventy percent of the earth's surface. While coral reefs take up only a very small fraction of the ocean (less than onetenth of a percent), they are home to an astonishing variety of animals and plants. Coral reefs have very high biological diversity (biodiversity) - approximately 93,000 species of plants and animals have already been identified in coral reefs, and scientists predict that there may be over three million.
