Book Description
Competitive examinations in the discipline of Soil Science become routine in nature for ICAR-JRF & SRF, IARI-PhD, besides National Eligibility Test and recruiting Scientists through Agricultural Scientist Recruitment Board. There are number of books and large literature on Soil Science but objective type questions have not been compiled in a readable manner. During my student days I have faced this problem and it was my desire that I shall write a one handy information which will be useful to students appearing in various kind of examinations related with Soil Science. There is a great demand or request from the students and staff for objective Soil Science question bank. The question bank should contains theory, fill in the blanks, multiple choice questions as well as cross matching questions based on the new syllabus for undergraduate and post graduate students of the agricultural universities in India. Keeping the aforesaid point in view I have made an attempt to complete a theory, question bank with answers on all facets of Soil Science based on my experience in the subject by appearing and successfully qualifying all the above examinations. In edition I have searched all old papers of these examinations and relevant questions have been duly incorporated. The questions are prepared on various chapters in a Soil Science based on new syllabus on above points. This information will be helpful to the readers to quickly grasp the facts comprehensively and systematically from various branches of Soil Science. The authors hope that the publication will be helpful to those who want to move ahead towards a holistic understanding of an important faceted subject. However, I should consider my labour well rewarded only if this book serves the needs of all concerned. Care has been taken to rule out errors and repetitions. But, surely in our maiden attempt, errors are bound to happen. Therefore readers are sincerely requested to make suggestions for the improvement of this publication to augment its full utility and wider acceptability. I wish to express my deep sense of gratitude and indebtedness to my teachers who helped me directly or indirectly during the preparation of the manuscript of this text. I am also thankful to my wife, beloved sons Rohan and Arjun who extended full cooperation during preparation of this book.
