Bundelkhand University. He also obtained his MBA in Pharmaceuticals
from University of Brussels, Belgium. Dr.S.Palani has 20 years of
teaching experience at both Undergraduate and Post graduate levels. He
has published 38 research and review articles in international and
national Journals. He worked in various institutions like Jiwaji
University-Gwalior, Bundelkhand University-Jhansi, Misurata University-Libya, and Mekelle
University-Ethiopia. At present Dr. S. Palani is Professor in School of Medicine, Pharmacology Unit,
Jigjiga University, Ethiopia. |

Dr. Nisha Mary Joseph | Dr. Nisha Mary Joseph is an accomplished educator, author. She has
published more than 38 publications. Dr. Nisha obtained her Doctorate
from Bundelkhand University, Jhansi, India. She also has her MBA in
Pharmaceuticals from University of Brussels, Belgium. Dr. Nisha
obtained her Masters degree in Pharmaceutics from Dr. M.G.R Medical
University. Currently she is serving as Associate Professor in Addis
Ababa University. I dedicate this book to Pharmacy, Medical, Nursing

Dr. Pramod K. Sharma | Dr. Pramod K. Sharma is currently the Pro Vice Chancellor and Dean,
School of Medical and Allied Sciences at Galgotias University. He has
27 years of teaching and research experience at various levels. Dr.
Pramod K. Sharma had served as Director, University Institute of
Pharmacy, Bundelkhand University, Jhansi, various private
&Government institutes such as MD University, Rohtak, KIET, MIET
and SGRRIT at Director Level and have developed various Pharmacy
Institutes from scratch to zenith. He published 43 Patents, publications
which include 270 International, 50 national and 70 Abstracts. He guided
143 M.Pharm students and 17 PhD candidates. Dr. P.K. Sharma has edited chapters in 5 books,
published 6 books. He is also involved in conducting research in novel Oral Drug Delivery Systems,
Pharmaceutical Quality Control, Pharmaceutical Technology. He has visited various countries to
present research papers at premier international Pharmacy/ Medical conferences and symposia,

Book Description
Pharmacology is a science with its own distinctive attitudes and practices. It is also a science that links many others in the massive enterprise of developing chemicals that affect living tissues to the benet of humankind. The most prominent of these activities is the development of new medicines, but there are many others. This book is written with the aim to develop special interest in pharmacology with a lucid approach to make learning easy for medical, dental, nursing and pharmacy students. The role of this textbook is to provide the satisfaction of understanding with minimum effort and to achieve an overall highlight of the different classes of drugs. In this book the text has been reduced to a minimum and highlighted in tables for easy understanding. A major goal of this book is to assist students in their learning by presenting information in the clearest and most concise manner using tables to emphasize key points and relevant clinical information to depict key concepts and mechanisms. Each chapter includes a presentation of specic drugs with a discussion of their general properties, mechanism of action, therapeutic uses, and adverse effects. However, the authors will feel rewarded, if students can grasp the ideology and spirit behind presentation of this book. The book will denitely help to remember the contents in each chapter very easily and it serves as a nal glance on their preparation for oral and written examinations
