Book Description
Oral Epithelial Dysplastic lesions, especially so called oral precancer, are among the most challenging and intricate topics of head and neck pathology1.The concept of a stepwise development of cancer in the oral mucosa, i.e., the initial presence of a precursor (premalignant/ precancerous) lesion subsequently developing into cancer is well established. The presence of Epithelial Dysplasia may be even more important in predicting malignant development than the clinical characteristics2.In medical terms the word dysplasia means an abnormality of development and in histomorphology word dysplasia expresses cellular and structural changes of the epithelium1.
