Man is the only creature on this earth, who is endowed with creative mind. His power of creativity, skill and imagination has led him to invent new things and making his life more comfortable and luxurious. In 21st century any new things man creates through the application of his mind is held to be his property, such properties are termed as “Intellectual Property Rights”. Intellectual property refers to creations of mind, involving creativity, skill, labor and expenditure such as musical, literary, artistic work, inventions symbols, names, images, and designs, copyright etc. Protecting the intellectual property rights in cyberspace is the most vital area to the new millennium lawyers and law students. Now the virtual space information is only at a mouse click distance from one's personal computer and information technology has made every impossible task possible on cyberspace. This book gives an idea about the concept of protection cyber intellectual property rights, especially protection of copyright in cyberspace and domain name disputes are the main focus of this work. For this purpose the present laws that governs the intellectual property rights in India, International treaties etc, are also examined. The increase in the legal disputes relating to the current topic and the controversial views involved have created a need to provide information and analyse the correct perspective, which I have endeavored to achieve through this work .I hope the book will serve the purpose of providing knowledge on protection of intellectual property rights in cyberspace.
