Mendelian Genetics and Heredity are widely taught topics right from high school to the undergraduate students across all the schools and Universities. Mendelian genetics, Modern genetics and heredity is a part of curricula of all the subbranches of Life Sciences, such as Botany, Zoology, Developmental Biology, Medical genetics and Biotechnology etc. This is a very interesting as well as basic topic in understanding how characters are passed on from previous generation to the next generations. Gregor Johann Mendel postulated certain principles to explain the inheritance of characters, based on his meticulous experiments on garden pea plant (Pisum sativum) and precise documentation of the same. Using these simple principles, it is very interesting to analyze the progenies of crosses between genetically diverse individuals and nding their morphological (phenotypic) and genotypic proportions.
