M.Pharm, PhD, FIC, FASAW Prof. Dr. Y. Narsimha Reddy is working as Professor of Pharmacology in University College of pharmaceutical sciences, Kakatiya University, Warangal, India and he is involved in both teaching and research activities. He had over twenty ve years of teaching and research experience. He has successfully completed his administrative responsibilities as principal, presently he is Chairperson BOS In faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Kakatiya University. He is serving as an editorial member for several reputed journals. He got fellowships from Institution of Chemists of India (FIC) and Academy of Sciences and Animal welfare (FASAW). He has received several awards and honors from state and as well as central government. He has published extensively in national and international journals. He is a life member of Indian Pharmacological Society (IPS), Indian Pharmaceutical Association (IPA), Association of Pharmaceutical Teachers of India (APTI), Indian Pharmacy Graduates Association (IPGA), Society of Toxicology (STOX) and Laboratory Animal Scientists Association (LASA).

Book Description

I feel immense pleasure, satisfaction & unique sense of accomplishment in presenting this book "Practical guide to Human Anatomy and Physiology for paramedics" for the students of paramedical courses like D.Pharm, B.Pharm, M.L.T and B.Sc nursing. This book is written in such a way that it helps the students about the experimental procedures in the laboratory. The main aim of this book is to delineate the clear vision regarding the anatomy and physiology practicals. This book is designed to provide complete and current procedures of the anatomy experiments in the laboratory and gives a lucid explosion of practicals and is expected to be extremely useful for paramedical students. The rst part consists of the "Basic regulations during the Laboratory experiments, which includes the rules and regulations followed by the student in the laboratory and the description of Compound microscope with a labeled diagram along with the magnication specications. The second part consists of the study of different tissues like "Epithelial tissue, Connective tissue, Muscular tissue and Nervous tissue, which includes the structure, location, types and properties of all the above said tissues. The third part consists of the haematology which includes the description of the drawing blood from the nger, Technique of using pipettes, Preparation of dilutions and the study of Neubaur's Chamber. It also includes the experiments like Determination of Bleeding Time, Determination of Clotting Time, Determination of Blood Group, Estimation of Haemoglobin, Estimation of Erythrocyte Sedimentation Rate, Estimation of Haematocrit Value, Estimation of Red Blood cell count, Estimation of Total Leucocyte count, and Estimation of Differential Leucocyte count The fourth part consists of the evaluation of the physiological parameters which includes the experiments like Recording of Body Temperature, Recording of Blood Pressure, Recording of Pulse Rate, Recording of Heart Rate, Determination of Vital Capacity, Analysis of properties of normal urine and Analysis of abnormal constituents of urine I hope this book enables the students to understand the procedure of the specied experiments in step by step. I owe my deep debt of gratitude to my great teacher and philosopher Prof. Y. Narsimha Reddy, the editor of the book for his endless supervision, and meticulous guidance throughout the completion of this book.
