Dr. Rajeev Dohare
Rajeev Kumar Dohare received a Bachelor of Technology Degree with 1st Class from National Institute of Technology, Surat, India, in 2002. He also earned a Masters of Engineering Degree from the Aligarh Muslim university, Aligarh, India in 2005; he earned a PhD. Degree from the Malaviya National Institute of Technology, Jaipur in 2014. He joined the Department of Chemical Engineering at the Malaviya National Institute of Technology, Jaipur, India as Assistant Professor in 2008. Dr. Kumar has carried out extensive research in various areas of theory and practice of advanced process control, process modeling and simulation, solid waste management, process optimizations, and applications of fluid mechanics at nano and micro level. He has published more than 70 papers in international refereed journals and conferences. He has supervised 10 B.Tech and 8 Master thesis. He has delivered more than 10 expert talks in various conferences, workshops and short term courses. Dr. Kumar has been very active member of the Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers (IIChE) and presently he is working as a Regional Honorable Treasurer of IIChE Jaipur Regional Centre. He is also an active member of Indian Desalination Association.

Dr. Sushant Upadhyaya holds B.Tech (Chemical Engineering); M. Tech. and Ph.D (Chemical Engineering) degrees. He joined MNIT as a Assistant Professor of Chemical Engineering in 2008 and is serving as a Assistant Professor continuously. His assignments include teaching UG and PG courses, involved in research activities, Co-coordinator TEQIP II, DPGC Convener (2015-17), Coordinator Sports (Indoor), and Warden in the institute. The major areas of his research are Wastewater Treatment, Polymer Process Modeling , Membrane Separation , Transport Phenomena, Modeling and Simulation. He has published/presented over 80 papers in various international/national journals/conferences, guided *10 Masters’ theses,* taken up several research projects, and received shikshak shree award. He has conducted several workshop, short term for faculty development under TEQIP Phase -II as an coordinator. He has delivered many keynote addresses and invited talks at International/national conferences and institutions. He has also received a Prestigious National Awards for Technology Innovation in Petrochemical and Downstream Processing Industry on July 17, 2014 by Honarable Union Minister for Chemicals and Fertilizers Government of India for the year 2013-14

The ELM technique has great potential for recovery and removal of different metal ions and hydrocarbons from wastewater where conventional methods provide lower separation efficiency. In this study, Copper (II) ions was extracted from the aqueous solution using HPMBP as the carrier, SPAN-80 as the surfactant, hydrochloric acid as the stripping agent, kerosene as the solvent. Depending upon the solubility of carrier, surfactant, an optimum composition of emulsion formation and extraction was designed. The important parameters affecting the ELM extraction process including concentration of carrier, concentration of surfactant and feed concentration were investigated. Based on the optimum conditions like carrier concentration 6%V/V, surfactant concentration 5%V/V, 1NHCl (25ml), kerosene as a solvent, the ELM can extract 20.04 % copper ions from 50 ppm feed solution.
