Early Clinical Exposure (ECE) , as a part of Competency based undergraduate curriculum, emphasizes on introducing aspects of clinical and social contexts in patient care from 1st year of MBBS . The idea is to give relevance and applicability of basic sciences to clinical knowledge and care. It also reinforces the comprehension of normal and its altered expression in diseased states. To the learners, the clinical relevance of what is being taught in pre-clinical years, acts as an impetus to effective learning. The present module of Early Clinical Exposure – Physiology, is a guide to teachers and learners about the way various topics are to be organized for basic clinical exposure, its targeted competencies, relevant settings, clinical material that can be used, specic learning objectives with teaching and assessment strategies, learning resource material and various website links & references. The topics to be considered from the module for actual conduction of ECE can be selected at departmental level. Also, subject experts can select a part or modify the module as per the context and need.
