Dr. Sadaf Ali | Dr. Sadaf Ali has completed her MBBS and then did her MD in Biochemistry. She was topper of batch
both in her MBBS and MD in her university. She rmly believes that Medicine is incomplete without a
good clinical research. All the aspects of pathology need to be correlated at the molecular basis. Every
disease has a different molecular aspects and different pathological aspects that are nally manifested
clinically as a wide spectrum of signs and symptoms. Therefore, work at molecular level by doing
clinical research may help us to prevent various deleterious effects due to a particular disease. She has
worked on a number of research projects and has 14 publications in her credit. In addition to this she has
13 book chapters in her name published in various international and national books. Most of these are
afliated to Springer, Elsevier, Taylor and Francis and Web of science, Index Medicus. She has worked
on Diabetes Mellitus and its molecular aspects like advanced glycation end products. Her work also
consists on Hepatobiliary Research and various aspects of Covid-19. Currently she is working on
Ferritin levels in hepatobiliary diseases. |

Dr. Nadeem Rashid | Dr. Nadeem Rashid is a renowned surgeon. After pursuing his MBBS, he did DNB in surgery from
BHMRC, New Delhi. He has done a lot of surgeries and has also worked on various research topics. He
has numerous research papers in his name indexed with Index Medicus and has also written some good
international book chapters indexed with Scopus. Currently he is working on surgical aspects of
various hepatobiliary diseases. He has also worked in surgeries related to Covid-19 patients and has
tremendously contributed to the service of health care as well as to the Clinical research. |

Book Description
Covid-19 is a novel strain of corona virus that emerged in China in December 2019. This soon led to a global pandemic in a short span of time. Study of the molecular structure of Covid-19 may aid in development of therapeutic measures.2 Due to Covid-19 pandemic there is always an extraordinary risk to health and healthcare systems globally.3 Covid-19 usually manifests with the signs and symptoms of respiratory illness, cough usually dry cough, fever, associated with myalgias and sometimes breathing difculties. This is mainly due to decrease in oxygen saturation rates in these patients. Although some people show fever with body aches whilst some are relatively asymptomatic. Corona virus is primarily transmitted in humans through respiratory route and is highly contagious. Mostly old people and those having co-morbid illnesses suffered most. Corona viruses are made of single stranded RNA present within the coat. The virus has a diameter of nearly 80 nm to 120 nm. After invading into the human body, the virus may lead to a sequence of processes such as viral invasion, replication, and programmed cell death i.e. apoptosis. In depth studies on the molecular aspects of Covid-19 in detail may help to design therapeutic agents as well as for vaccine formation. The micro-RNA is dened as the single- stranded non-coding RNA molecules.12 They have length of about 22 nucleotides approximately and help in post transcriptional regulation of gene expression.12, 13 Micro RNAs are believed to regulate many types of cancers also in addition to Covid-19 and other infections.
