It takes immense pleasure for us to write this book on the systematic study of Dioscorea species of Meghalaya, North east India which is a part of the first author Ph. D research work. Dioscorea, a complicated genus has always been a challenge to systematist due to it wide range of diversity in nature, dieocy and small flower. This is also regarded as a potent genus for alkaloid “Diosgenin”. Hence this book “An approach towards the systematic study on Dioscorea species of Meghalaya, N.E.
